Simple salads with fresh, local ingredients have always been a favorite of mine. Often times it happens to be that I’m dining at a fresh Farm to Table restaurant or hitting up a Farmer’s Market on Saturday morning and will order salad for my entrée, simply because I know how fresh it will be.
One of my favorite treats growing up was fudge and I have to admit it’s still a favorite. I have fond memories of selling Harry London Easter candies during my elementary school fundraising days. The catalogue was full of bunnies as big as my 6 year old head, chocolate coated eggs filled caramels, nut butter and solid chocolate…fudge.
I mean…’donut’ get me started on all of the reasons why we love donuts in our house. As a kid, I grew up with one of my parents, usually my dad getting up before me and my sisters and going down to Neff’s Bakery. Neff’s is one of those ‘places’ and the delicious aroma and quaintness of the bakery
There is something about summer, strawberries and rhubarb that make me want to spend time in the kitchen. It could be to get out of the hot, summer sun but it also gives me time to spend with my family who loves making fresh jam (something to look forward to soon). While they slice strawberries
